With over a decade of experience in innovation, including launching, building, pivoting, scaling products and exiting businesses within and without the African tech ecosystem. His experience includes management and commercials. Growth, New Markets and/or Verticals, Expansion, Marketing, Business Development, and Leadership. He has interfaced with different ranges of customers and professionals across different business cadres and sectors—working with multiethnic and multicultural teams across Africa and the world, creating brands and partnerships that stand the test of time and from which many businesses have benefitted, and also very bullish about creating opportunities within the underserved population and growing innovation space in Nigeria, and Africa at large. A self-described Accidental Founder, Olumide led the ideation, growth and eventual exit of QuickBus in Nigeria, as well as growth in Kenya and South Africa, before it was acquired by Buupass, now the biggest ticketing and asset/embedded financing startup specifically in the super complicated logistics and road transportation space on the continent. Very well connected within the Nigerian and African tech ecosystem and Political space, regulatory compliance, and due diligence modalities are part of his skillset; having spent a good number of years in the past running political strategy at some of the highest levels, he has excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and drive. He is constantly obsessed with spotting patterns, deep analysis, and creating a nexus between business goals and people/relationships—he also possesses the uncanny ability to rally, lead, and motivate teams to achieve business growth. Olumide spends his time these days serving as mentor and advisor to several businesses and startups, with a deep commitment to helping them create lasting, formidable processes and structures that place them on the best path to success. He has served as a mentor for the ARM-Techstars Lagos since inception and is also an angel investor and/or advisor in several startups across different spaces.
